Cumbrian basket maker Phil Bradley delivering a basket making course

growing cooking and eating...

We grow a lot of our own food on the farm, and support small groups of teachers wanting to develop their food growing skills with a view to setting up vegetable gardens with their children in school.

Timber frame builder Malcolm Lemmon running a 4 day course for BHMAT apprentices using douglas fir sourced locally and milled on the farm.

Another timber frame constructed under Malcolm's expert guidance - oak this time.

Supporting BTCV by teaching a group of young people -developing green woodworking skills, weaving hurdles to repair
the bankside of a heavily eroded stream..

and making shave horses as part of their project
